Pumpkins

Look at all the pumpkins we brought to school today!

Time to do our Math!

Measuring how tall they are.

Measuring how fat they are.

Using strings to measure their circumference.

Measuring how heavy they are.

Lining them up in order by height.

Time to do our Pumpkin Record Sheets!

We have time for some Pumpkin Art!

Now, back to business!  We are ready to scoop out the gooey pulp and count our Pumpkin Seeds!

Jordan, Alexandra, and Luke had 44 pumpkin seeds!

Derrick and Tyler had 109 pumpkin seeds!

Liam and Shay had 150 seeds.

Jolie and Ethan had 209 pumpkin seeds!

Nikole and Anthony had 55 pumpkin seeds!

Pumpkin Experiment

We used some pumkins to investigate where best to put them before making our Jack-o-Lanterns.  The sun?  The shade?  Inside the room?  Or the refrigerator?

This is how the pumpkin looked like after a week of keeping in the shade outside.

This is how the pumpkin looked like after a week of keeping it under the sun.

This is how the pumpkin looked like after a week of keeping it inside the room.

Now, this is how the pumpkin looked like after a week of keeping it inside the refrigerator.  Wow, still fresh!

Stacy's kind enough to take home the pumpkins and bake some pumpkin bread for us!

The pumpkin bread is ready!

Thanks Stacy!  They were good!

Speical thanks to Kevin for bringing the extra pumpkins!
